Cops on the Rooftop supports Special Olympics

From 6 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 19 members of local law enforcement will be on the roof of the Rhinelander Dunkin store (1415 Lincoln Street) to raise support for Special Olympics Wisconsin.

"The community is encouraged to stop by and say hello - have a donut and coffee - and meet police, Special Olympic athletes and volunteer," organizers said in a press release.

"Cops on the Rooftop" will be happening across the state of Wisconsin at 66 participating Dunkin locations.

This is the 11th year that Dunkin and law enforcement have teamed up, raising more than $490,000 dollars for Special Olympics Wisconsin.

Special Olympics Wisconsin provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy while participating in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, Special Olympics athletes and the community, according to the Special Olympics Wisconsin website.
