On April 24, 2023, Heaven gained a soldier in cowboy boots. James Paul Leatherman left this world and his wife of 59 years, JoAnn (Seiter) Leatherman, after a long battle with cancer at his home in Hancock, Maine.

Jim was born on March 18,1941, to Walter and Ruth (Kirk) Leatherman, in Barberton, Ohio. His brothers, Richard, and Charles, were waiting for him at the gates of Heaven.

Jim lives on in his family whom he loved dearly. Susie and her husband, Scott Parsons, and Heidi Leatherman; his three grandchildren, Abbi Hanna and her fiancé Chris Byers, Amanda and her husband Brandon Tupper and Christopher and his wife Shelby; and seven great-grandchildren, Lucas Parsons, Aiden and Tanner Tupper, Khloe Hanna, and Benjamin, Isabelle, and Brayson Parsons.

Jim served in the Army for 24 years where he served two tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the Army, he became property manager for Tasmania, an estate in Wisconsin.

A man of very few words, he would want this to be short and sweet.

Please join us in honoring him at the Acadia National Cemetery on May 12 at 1:30 p.m. A celebration of life will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Hospice wherever you live.

Condolences can be submitted at www.jordanfernald.com.

More about Jim and his life is available at James "Jim" Paul Leatherman's Memorial Website | Ever Loved (everloved.com/life-of/james-leatherman/).
