Della Lorraine Bacon
Della was assigned to teach at the Seventh Day Adventist School in Clearwater Lake. She married her husband, Carl Bacon, Sr., on Oct. 19, 1952 in Clearwater Lake. Della was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Clearwater Lake. She also was a member of the church's Dorcas Society, and the Pine and Plow Editor Committee.
Della will be fondly remembered for her pickling talents, making sauerkraut, crocheting, knitting and patchwork. She made many quilts and blankets for American Legion programs, hospitals and homes.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Carl Bacon, Sr. in 2014; her parents: Albert and Mary Kalbes; and sisters: Marion Leisner and Mildred Johnson.
Della is survived by her sons: Jeffrey (Barbara) Bacon of Denton, Texas, Bruce Bacon of Mercer, Randy (Lisa) Bacon of Clearwater Lake, Stevan of Clearwater Lake, Carl "Corky" (Brenda) Bacon of Clearwater Lake, David (Cynthia) Bacon of Clearwater Lake; brother James Kalbes of Youngstown, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; other family; and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Clearwater Lake. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday May 11, 2023 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
