Jim is survived by his daughter Heather (Joseph) Miller, his son Trevor Hoha, his grandchildren Gabriel, Ava, Sophia and Mariella, his sisters Fran Olson and Donna (David) Jorgenson, his brother David Hoha, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Thomas and Larry.
Jim started working at the Rhinelander Telephone Company at the age of 17 and continued working there in various positions throughout his career. After retirement, Jim and his wife, Barb, did a lot of traveling in their motorhome and took to the road on their Harleys. Jim enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of his large collection of dahlias. It wasn't unusual for Jim to stop at the local watering hole with a flower for the waitress. Jim was outgoing and loved connecting with people. He played in a pool league for many years and enjoyed his time with friends and family.
Funeral services for Jim will be held on June 10, 2023 at 11 a.m., at Northland Memorial Park Cemetery with a luncheon to follow. You may leave your private condolences for the Hoha family at www.carlsonfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jim's name. All proceeds will go to "Growing Up Chester". Jim was a skier and introduced his children to skiing. Some of his grandchildren learned to ski and continue to volunteer and support youth at Chester Bowl. This fund is to expand and renovate the chalet to keep the program going.
You may contribute by sending donations to Heather with the memo "James Hoha Memorial" or completing the donation form https://growingupchester.org/donate/and adding "James Hoha Memorial" in the comments.
