He was born in Rhinelander, on May 14, 1975, to James J. and Susan J. (O'Melia) Jankowski. Ted was raised in Rhinelander and was a 1993 graduate of Rhinelander High School. Immediately following high school, Ted began working for his father's plumbing company, American Mechanical Inc., where he completed his plumbing apprenticeship. He continued to work with his father, completing and receiving his Journeyman's License. He worked with his father from 1993 until 2016. In the early 2000s, while working together, Ted's dad Jim suffered a major health issue. Ted was able to perform CPR and saved his father's life. In the last two years of his father's life, Ted became his father's primary caregiver.
He was united in marriage to Angela Fourt and they later divorced. From that union came three beautiful daughters.
Ted was known to be very social, and this led him in his later years to be a bartender at Big Daddy's. He had been a member of various pool leagues in Rhinelander. Ted enjoyed fishing, camping and his animals.
Ted will be remembered for his sense of humor, being mischievous, his socialness and how much he loved and enjoyed spending time with his giant family.
Ted will be dearly missed by his daughters, Autumn (Matthew Quade) Jankowski of Ft. Myers, Florida, Adalia Jankowski (Mike Zuiker) of Rhinelander and Aliana Jankowski (A.J. Havenga) of Minot, North Dakota; siblings, Jimmy (Jodi Fourt) Jankowski of Lake of the Hills, Ill., Anna (Terry) Schmidt of Rhinelander; two nieces, Emeri and Eden Jankowski; his fiancé Kathleen Hagen and her daughters, and by his four-legged companions, Gypsy, Vivian and Venus.
Also surviving are other relatives and many friends.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents James and Susan Jankowski.
The visitation for Ted will be held this Saturday afternoon, March 25, 2023 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 1 to 4 p.m.
The sharing of memories will begin at 4 p.m.
