She was born in Louisville, Ky., on July 15, 1947. Her father was an Episcopal priest there and Jane practiced her faith fully in the Episcopal church throughout her life. She attended Mary Baldwin College in Virginia and then some years later obtained her master's degree in history from Oxford University in England. She taught English at various schools in the east and south including Porter Gaud in Charleston, S.C. She was passionate about English literature.
Jane was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Christine, and by her loving husband, Bill Reilly. She is survived by her granddaughter, Robynne Emory Borner and son-in-law Win Borner of Gastonia, and stepdaughter Karin Reilly and her children Shaunagh and Finnley Hartz of Germany.
She will be interred next to her husband and daughter in Rhinelander.
Jane was the happiest when she was in her lovely cottage on Sugar Camp Lake in the Wisconsin Northwoods, surrounded by nature, family memories and loving neighbors.
Jane, (or Janie as she was also called) will be missed by all who knew this charming, intelligent, and interesting lady.
