Fremont man charged in Oneida County ICAC case

A $5,000 cash bond was set Thursday in the case of a 43-year-old Fremont man charged with using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.

According to a criminal complaint filed March 16, Andrew Brian Schultz was arrested Wednesday at a location in Rhinelander where he planned to meet a person he believed to be a 15-year-old female for purposes of sexual activity.

The complaint includes a transcript of a conversations between Schultz and an undercover Oneida County law enforcement officer who was posing as a teenage girl as part of an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. The conversation included references to sexual activity. In addition, condoms were found in the defendant's vehicle.

Using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime is a Class C felony carrying a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and a mandatory minimum of five years incarceration.

Schultz was due back in court Monday afternoon for an adjourned initial appearance.
