Susan Mary Mixis
Susan attended schools in Rhinelander and graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1968. She started working at St. Mary's Hospital in 1970 as a medical secretary in the x-ray department, and retired in 2012 after 43 years. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bundy.
Susan's favorite things in life were fishing, gardening, cooking, anything outside, her dogs, and doing things for other people.
Susan is survived by her sister Shirley Mixis of Rhinelander and her brothers Randy (Judy) Mixis and John (Joanne) Mixis, both of Parrish, as well as nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters Sandra Bouttiou, Patricia Johnson and Shelby Meinke, her special friend Thomas Wingreen, her nephew Brad Johnson, and her brothers-in-law Tom Johnson and Michael Meinke.
Visitation for Susan will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon with a memorial service at noon, all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Chaplain John Uhlarik will be officiating. Interment will be in the Gleason Cemetery in Gleason. You may leave your private condolences for the Mixis family at www.carlsonfh.com.
