Harvey graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. He married the love of his life, Linda (Henkel), in Wisconsin Rapids Dec. 17, 1966.
Harvey's first job was at Boll Implement which led to a passion for tinkering and restoring vintage tractors. He proudly served as an auxiliary policeman for Wisconsin Rapids for 10 years. Harvey worked for Nekoosa Papers for 25 years primarily in the salvage department.
Harvey loved camping, hunting, fishing, whittling and working with his hands. He was known to always be happy and hum a tune while working.
Being born with a heart defect, he wasn't expected to live past 8 years old. As a result, he was very appreciative of every single day.
In his retirement he was one of the founding members of the Wisconsin 6-Shooters, a part of the international organization of Cowboy Fast Draw, where he was proud to wear the name of "Tumbleweed".
Harvey is survived by his wife of 56 years Linda; his son Scott (Kim) Pelot of Red Wing, Minn.; his daughter Pam (Craig) Bailey of Neenah; adopted son, Terry Pelot; three grandsons, Gregory, Brandon and Joshua of Red Wing, Minn.; his brother Don (Judy) Pelot of Wisconsin Rapids; his sisters, Ann (Ron) Swenson of Vesper and Donna (Pete) Stern of Wisconsin Rapids. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Beverly Bishop and Jeanne Morgan, and by his brother George Pelot Jr.
Harvey will be missed by his family and many friends including his dog Bandit, ...but he is content to be with Jesus.
His race is now run.
Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
