Jim was born in Rhinelander on Nov. 15, 1955 to Alvin James and Loretta Ann (Stefonik) Johnson. Raised in Rhinelander, Jim was a 1973 graduate of Rhinelander High School. He was first employed at Erickson's gas station which at the time was a full service gas station. He later was employed as a Machine Operator at the Rhinelander Paper Company retiring from there at the age of 62.
Jim along with his father, Alvin enjoyed horseshoes and had been members of various leagues.
Jim enjoyed fishing, taking drives out into the country, feeding the wildlife on his deck and his cat, Bernie. He enjoyed the simple things in life, and was very content to just sit by the campfire down by the lake.
He will be dearly missed by his brother, Paul of Rhinelander, sister-in-law, Karen Johnson of Forest Lake, Minnesota, and his nephew, Dusty Johnson. Also surviving is his four legged companion, Bernie and friends.
A Celebration of Jim's Life will take place at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin, 54501, 715-365-4343. Everyone is invited to sign the guestbook or leave an online condolence at www.hildebrandrussfh.com.
