Wilson proudly served in the U.S. Navy in his early 20s. Later, he married and was widowed shortly after.
His lifestyle choices in his early years led him down a challenged and unsettled path that he thankfully was able to leave behind once he arrived in Three Lakes.
He joined forces with his sister, Donna, cooking at the Oneida Village Inn, until it burned down in 2019. Wilson also developed harvesting skills at the local cranberry company.
Wilson was a kind-hearted man who attended to the needs of others.
He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Ferguson, uncle, Robert (Peggy) Danner, cousins, Carrie Jane Danner-Vozka, Lawrence Danner, Tom Danner, and Cheryl Ferguson, children, and grandchildren of Carrie Jane, along with other extended family, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Ferguson, sister Donna Ferguson, aunt, Estelle Danner, maternal and paternal grandparents.
The visitation for Wilson and Donna will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, from 2 to 5 p.m.
Military honors will take place at 5 p.m. conducted by the Northwoods Color Guard and by two representatives from the United States Navy.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
