Dennis R. Swanson "Swanny"
He was born July 18, 1955 in Rhinelander, the son of Frederick and Helen (Swift) Swanson. He attended schools in Rhinelander and graduated in 1973.
Swanny was involved in Boy Scouts from an early age, eventually receiving highest honors of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed spending time in Park Falls at the hunting shack. Swanny was truly in his element when he could be trout fishing, hunting deer, or being out partridge and turkey hunting. He was an avid reader and card player. Swanny started working for Northwood Coin Machine before graduating from high school, eventually purchasing the business, and operating it for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Christie (George) Grubbs of Rib Lake; sister, Susan Swanson of Rhinelander; brother, Rick (Billie) Swanson of Rhinelander; grandchildren, Mason (Jeni) Boomer; Ricky (Katy) Boomer, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Fred, in 2002 and his mother, Helen in 2019.
The family gives the sincerest thank you to the staff of Seasons of Life for making this hard time worry free and comfortable. To all his friends "go and tip a glass" when you remember him.
Per Swannys' request there will be no service or visitation.
Goodbyes hurt when the story is not finished, and the book has been closed.
