Bill is survived by his wife Margaret, his son James Allen (Anna) of Anniston, Alabama, and daughter Kristina Fields (Paul) of Platteville. He was cherished by his four grandchildren Michael and Emily Fields and Sophia and Luke Allen. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.
While a quiet man, he was a very caring person and enjoyed meeting friends for coffee, talking about old cars, and playing sheepshead. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball at Hodag Park and volunteering for the Rhinelander Ice Association. He, and others, spent many cold nights making ice at Pioneer Park, the high school, and the current RIA ice arena. Driving the Zamboni was something he took great pride in.
He instilled a great love of the outdoors to his family spending time with them on Lake George, camping, and road trips out west. He loved to travel, including on his Goldwing motorcycle and motorhome and passed his love of travel on to his children and grandchildren.
Bill and Marge enjoyed warming up in the winters as snowbirds in Oro Valley, Arizona and are thankful to the many great friends they have made there and for their support.
Our family is thankful to Becky and Jeff Tracy, of Rhinelander, and Aspirus Hospice for their care and assistance.
There will be no services held at this time for Mr. Allen. A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held at a later date. His remains will be interred in the Northwoods National Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Allen family at www.carlsonfh.com.
