She is survived by her husband Deane Volzka, her son Jim (Tracy) Volzka, her daughter Julie (Doug) Stone, her grandchildren Adam (Nicole) McGeshick, Nicholas (Kat) McGeshick, Megan Volzka, Alex Volzka, Dayne Stone, Nicole Costa, Jennifer Stone, Jesse Stone, Brenna McBreen; 21 great-grandchildren, her brother Herb (Ann) Heser, and sister Susan (Rick) Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger sister Patricia Heser.
Ruth moved to Madison following her graduation from Tomah High School where she met her husband Deane, whom she had been married to for 54 years. Following their marriage, they moved to Rhinelander where they both began working at the Rhinelander Paper Mill. Ruth worked in the accounting department for several years until her retirement.
Ruth had a passion for traveling to tropical destinations and spending time on the golf course. She also enjoyed playing card games, pontoon boat rides, and spending time with her family.
Private graveside services for Ruth will be held at the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. You may leave your private condolences for the Volzka family at www.carlsonfh.com.
