Ripco Credit Union is once again supporting the Rhinelander Fourth of July parade by co-sponsoring the popular marching unit The Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay.

"This amazing group is always one of our very favorite parts of the parade - and we're honored to partner with Printpack to help bring them back to Rhinelander again this Fourth of July," said Diane Sowinski, Ripco's Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.

Sowinski recently presented parade organizer Dale Schlieve with a check for $725, representing Ripco's co-sponsorship of The Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay.

Established in 1912, The Pipes & Drums of Thunder Bay is one of the oldest pipe bands within Canada. They perform in Northwestern Ontario, Minnesota and Wisconsin for many parades and events.

The 2023 parade will be held on Tuesday, July 4 at 11 a.m. The parade route will start at the police station on Frederick Street, travel south down Brown Street, then north on Courtney Street to Davenport Street.

The theme for this year's parade is "Salute to our Troops" to honor our current returning troops, recognize the 50 years since our Vietnam veterans returned home, and to pay tribute to all who have served in our military.

In addition to The Pipes & Drums of Thunder Bay, other units of interest include the Rhinelander & Seymour High School Bands, Janesville Fife & Drum, the Rhinelander Community Band, and the Zor Funsters.

Parade applications are still available at the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce office at 450 West Kemp Street or online at: https://www.

Additional entries are welcome, and businesses, organizations, neighborhoods and even family groups are encouraged to join in the fun.

Antique cars, new or especially sharp cars and trucks are needed to lead sponsored units.

Call Schlieve at 715-369-1814 with questions or to express interest.
