As family grieves a deep loss with her passing, heaven is rejoicing at the arrival of their newest angel, Lois Schoepke left this world on June 6, 2023 with her loving family continuously by her side.

Lois led a wonderful life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister holding many hats in her 95 years on earth. Her family's well-being her main priority and their happiness her ultimate endeavor. She was able to accomplish this with a heart made up of dignity, graciousness, beauty, forgiveness and above all, love.

Lois was born in Rhinelander on Jan. 29, 1928 to Margaret and Royal Todd and attended Rhinelander area schools, graduating in 1946. In 1947 she was united in marriage to Harold Schoepke and they created a lifelong home together here. Lois was a very active member of Zion Lutheran Church volunteering there often.

Although employed at Rhinelander Telephone Company for many years as an operator her foremost career was that of the Schoepke Family CEO.

Lois and Harold loved being part of their community belonging to many various clubs and organizations.

For many years they were involved with Builders for Christ helping to build churches throughout the U.S. Being an avid downhill/cross country skier and snowmobiler Lois enjoyed many years out in the snow-filled Northwoods. The summer months would find her camping, golfing, and enjoying time at the lake. In later years Lois joined the Hodag Honeys, a dance troop that would travel throughout the community dancing for the elderly and for special events. Together the pair loved to travel together and with family/friends wherever the road would take them.

Lois is survived by her children, Stephen Schoepke, Crandon, Cheryl (Kevin) McSorley Rhinelander, Dawn Wells, Three Lakes, Peggy Durand Rhinelander; five grandchildren Ryan (Kelly) Lins, Nathan Wells, Andrew (Mae) Wells, Sarah (Jon) Copsey, Ashley (Sean) Durand and four great-grandchildren, Josiah, Abigail, Tristan and Hadlee; her sister Donna Mortinson and chocolate provider Mike Durand.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents and her brother Dick Todd.

Visitation for Lois will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 9 to 11 a.m. with funeral services following at 11 a.m., all at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Reverend Nate Plocher will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. Our family would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Rennes and Compassus for their compassion, kindness and care. Lois was so lucky to have you by her side.
