Rhinelander grad Comer named D-III baseball All-American

UW-Stevens Point baseball's Bradley Comer, a 2018 Rhinelander High School graduate, was named to the D3baseball.com All-America fifth team, the organization announced last week.

According to a UWSP press release, Comer snagged his first career All-America nod following a first-team all-region selection earlier last week. He was an All-WIAC first teamer this season as well, his third-straight first-team selection.

Comer led the Pointers in batting this spring, hitting .373 while starting all 47 games at third base or shortstop. He also led the team with 193 at-bats, 72 hits and 59 RBIs. He clubbed 13 home runs and had 12 doubles, both second on the team.

On May 20, Comer tied the program record with eight RBIs in a win over Webster in the NCAA regionals. It was one of four games this season that he drove in five or more. He had three multi-home run games, two of which were in the NCAA Tournament.

Comer's 59 runs batted in this season tied for fifth in program history, were second in the conference and 26th in the nation.

UWSP finished the season 33-14, falling to La Crosse 2-1 in a three-game NCAA Super Regional for the right to go to the NCAA D-III College World Series.
