She attended two years at Colorado State College of Education (UNC) in Greeley, Colo., and met Donald Schuelke. They married in June of 1953 in Kimball, Neb.
They lived in Osmond, Neb. for two years and then moved to Rhinelander in 1956, where they raised their three children.

Jean and Don loved to ride their motorcycle, play golf, snowmobiling, and to travel to Colorado to visit with family. They also loved to travel and party with their many friends.
Jean is survived by her daughters Diane VanLandingham of Rhinelander, Dee Morgan of Cheyenne, Wyoming, son James Schuelke of Oshkosh, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, other family and many friends.
Jean's family would like to thank everyone at Rennes Rehab in Rhinelander. Everyone there truly loved her.
The wonderful staff at Compassus Hospice is truly appreciated along with two very special friends Keith and Patti Young who were there every step of the way.
A memorial service will be held for Jean on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with a visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
