RHS alum Cal Laggis signed by NA3HL’s Oregon Tradesmen
Former Rhinelander High School boys’ hockey team member Cal Laggis has signed a tender to play for the Oregon (Wis.) Tradesmen, the Madison-area NA3HL hockey program announced Monday via social media.
Laggis, the son of RHS boys’ hockey coach M.J. Laggis, was a second-team All-Great Northern Conference forward during his senior season in 2021-22. He tallied 60 points over 25 games that year, and led the team with 44 assists. He scored 24 goals and had 65 assists overall in three seasons on the RHS squad.
In their tweet, the Tradesmen noted that Cal Laggis played club hockey at St. Norbert College last year. Cal Laggis’ older brother, Abe, played two seasons for the Tradesmen, tallying 17 goals and 14 assists.
The Tradesmen went 27-10-5-1 and finished second in the NA3HL Central Division last year, qualifying for the playoffs where they advanced all the way to the Fraser Cup semifinals.
