James Allan Kriesel, age 59, of Rhinelander died on Monday, July 10, 2023 at the Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander. James was born on Feb. 20, 1964 in Rhinelander.

James was an active member of the Special Olympics and participated in bowling and basketball. He also loved to listen to music, look through his Bible, and teasing his family.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers over the years especially Marilyn O'Leary and family, the Our Way Group Home in Tomahawk, the Friendly Village in Rhinelander and Compassus Hospice.

James is survived by his father John (Maggie) Kriesel, mother Jodie Lassig, brothers Phil (Amy) Kriesel of Rhinelander, Jake (Dawn) Kriesel of Rhinelander, Dave Kriesel of Nashville, Tenn.; nieces and nephews Lauren (Joe) Gervais, Taylor, Krystal and Nick.

There will be a visitation for James at the Carlson Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon.
