Middle schoolers take on Hodag Challenge, conference
The Hodag boys were 11th out of 12 teams in attendance while the Hodag girls were ninth out of 11 teams.
Austen Slette led the Hodag boys both days. He was 30th in Saturday's classic race and 32nd in Sunday's freestyle to place 31st overall with a cumulative time of 27 minutes, 10 seconds. Douglas Hartmann was 57th overall, Samuel Loomis was 63rd and Alexander Rusch was 71th. Aaron and Jonathan Calhoun competed in only Sunday's freestyle race, taking 37th and 40th, respectively.
Lucy Eddy led the Hodag girls, finishing 14th overall with a time of 27:34. She was 11th in Saturday's classic race and 18th in Sunday's freestyle. Mya Gillen took 21st overall, Kali Skubal was 38th, Kelsie Skubal finished 51st and Noelle Mayo was 61st.
Pearl Calhoun skied Sunday's freestyle race, finishing 49th.
The Hodags competed Tuesday in the Northern Conference meet in Cable. The Hodag girls took fourth, led by Eddy in seventh. Aaron Calhoun finished 14th to lead the Hodag boys, who placed fifth as a team.
