RHS and Three Lakes advance to FICB state tournament
In a rematch of last year's final game, a team from Rhinelander High School came out victorious, avenging last year's defeat at the hands of Three Lakes, according to a press release announcing the results of the competition.
Teams from Northland Pines and Laona also competed in the regional tournament which was held at Nicolet College.
"There was excellent attendance - an all-time record for this tournament and it ranked with the best-attended tournaments in the entire state," according to the release.
FICB is a statewide college bowl quiz competition that supports teachers of personal finance and economics and increases financial literacy for the students who compete. The FICB aligns with Wisconsin learning standards for financial literacy and economics, and is an effective strategy to promote learning. All FICB teams are led by teachers who help students study and prepare, as a classroom or an after school activity.
The state championship will be held on May 7 in Madison.
