Middle school Nordic competes at state sprints
The Hodags had four squads compete in Saturday's team relays. Douglas Hartmann and Austen Slette finished 20th overall while Samuel Loomis, paired with Madison skier Simonas Stonys, finished 23rd out of 29 teams. Kali Skubal and Mya Gillen made up Rhinelander's top girls' pair, qualifying for the A Final and finishing eighth overall. Noelle Mayo and Kelsie Skubal were the Hodags' B squad and finished 20th out of 26 teams.
Gillen ended up in the B Final for Sunday's individual skate sprint, taking 12th overall. Kali Skubal finished 22nd. Kelsie Skubal won the E Final to place 33rd and Mayo finished 42nd.
Hartmann finished 29th in the boys' races while Loomis took 39th.
