According to the Pine Lake Fire Department Facebook page, a call came it at approximately 8:19 a.m. Wednesday reporting a mobile home was on fire. The Pelican Fire Department was dispatched as automatic aid along with the Oneida County sheriff's department, Medic 1 and Wisconsin Public Service. The Sugar Camp Fire Department was requested for mutual aid.
"While enroute to the call, heavy smoke could be seen from Hwy. 17," according to the Pine Lake FD Facebook page. "MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) was requested to the box level for additional resources. Engine 2 arrived on scene to a mobile home with heavy fire showing. Firefighters initiated attack with a 2.5" ground monitor knocking the fire down before additional handlines were used to extinguish the fire. Water supply was set up on frontage road by Menards for refilling the tankers to shuttle water to the fire."
The Rhinelander, Newbold and Crescent fire departments all responded under the box alarm. While on this call Newbold was dispatched to a reported attic fire, according to the post. Both Newbold and Crescent were then released for them to respond to that call.
No injuries were reported, according to the post.
