Boys’ basketball: Rhinelander 54, Ashland 32

The Rhinelander High School boys’ basketball team overcame some offensive struggles in the second half on Thursday night before eventually pulling away to a 54-32 win at Ashland.

The Hodags committed 17 second-half turnovers and made only one of their first 13 attempts from 3-point range in the second, but yet Rhinelander’s lead never dropped below 10 points. That was because the Hodags held the Oredockers to just over 33% shooting and forced 25 turnovers.
