Michael L. Gee, age 58 of Monico, passed away peacefully at his home after a 14-month battle with terminal Pleural Mesothelioma. He was surrounded by his loving family. The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the ladies from Aspirus Hospice of Rhinelander.

Mike was born on May 2, 1965, in Rhinelander, the son of Allen and Shirley (Isley) Gee. He attended schools in Rhinelander, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1983. After high school he attended culinary classes at Nicolet College in Rhinelander. He married the former Amy Thill on August 18, 2018, in Rhinelander.

Mike was currently working at Mole Lake Casino as the bar manager up until his diagnosis. He loved meeting new customers and sharing stories with them and his coworkers. Because of his love of sports, he was looking forward to working at the new sports betting bar but unfortunately due to his health, he was unable to. Mike and Amy are both extremely grateful to everyone at the casino for everything they have done for them for the past 14 months. He also worked at many local bars and restaurants in previous years as well as for Precision Twist Drill in Rhinelander for 11 years.

Mike loved cooking, classic movies, old cars, music, cookouts, and game nights with his family. He enjoyed looking up at the sky, at the clouds and the stars. He loved everything football (especially the Packers! Go, Pack, Go!) and going to the Packer games with his family. He adored and loved his three kidduns, filling the bird feeder and watching the birds, and leaving carrots for the bunnies in the winter. He just loved all animals.

He is survived by his wife Amy, his stepchildren Russell Runkle and Anna (Josh) Budreau, his sisters Sherry Mathison, Laura Wilson and Toni (Nick Belongia) Miller, his brothers Gary (Susie) Gee, Scott (Lydia Dollar) Gee and Matthew Gee, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Allen.

A celebration of life for Mike will be held in late spring of 2024. You may leave your private condolences for the Gee family at www.carlsonfh.com.

The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Gee family.
