After a scoreless first period, the Hodags scored five times in the second to take control of the contest and tacked on two more goals in the third. Gavin Denis scored twice for the Hodags and Zach Edyvean also scored.
Freshman Asher Rivord, making his first career start, made 22 saves in the win as Rhinelander outshot Oshkosh 30-23.

Girls’ wrestling: Rhinelander 25th/30, Shawano Holiday Classic
The Hodag girls’ wrestling team was in action Saturday down in Shawano.
With Taylor Dahlquist scratched from the event, sophomore Mya Swanson was the Hodags’ lone participant and went 1-2 in the 126-pound weight class, finishing one win shy of getting through the wrestle back and into the placement rounds.
