Children who need care in the Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital Emergency Department will have several items to keep them busy thanks to a generous donation from the Park City Credit Union Rhinelander branch.
“We have a Share the Care program at the credit union and we get a monthly budget to do something in our communities and November was Jenny’s month,” Melinda Schultz, Park City Credit Union Rhinelander branch manager, said in a press release. “She decided that she wanted to do something to help the children in the hospital as her part in Share the Care.”
Jenny Jorgensen, Park City Credit Union lending specialist, organized the donation for pediatric patients.
“We purchased some teddy bears, LCD tablets, coloring books, crayons and a little viewfinder,” she added.
Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital Emergency Department supervisor Dan Arndorfer and his team accepted the donation and believes it will benefit the children. “Obviously, you don’t come to the ER for fun time,” he said. “It’s because something bad happened and they’re scared or hurt so anything you can do to give them a little relief helps them take their mind off of what’s happening. We’re very thankful for their generosity.”
The Park City team put the children’s items in 12 gift bags and presented them to the emergency department on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
