Marian Ione Neiber, age 90 of Rhinelander, passed away Nov. 22, 2023 at the Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1933 to Leonard and Florence (Booth) Olsen of Rhinelander.
Marian loved the Lord! Her whole life was dedicated to using her musical talents. Music was Marian's life. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ and violin. She began singing in the high school with the school choir and then the First Baptist and Calvary Churches. Local radio stations shared her music, and she also participated in the school’s drama club before graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1951.
Marian continued her musical studies at Moody Bible Institute. She then moved to accept a job with Western Electric. She returned home in 1953, eventually to head the Traffic Department with the Rhinelander Paper Company. Marian retired from the Paper Company in 1995.
In September 1991, Marian married Clarence “Baldy” Neiber.
Later in life, Marian continued her love of music by assisting with services at Trinity Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church. Her talents were also shared at Friendly Village, Milestone and Rennes Rehab Center. She loved playing old hymns for the people so they could sing along. Sharing her talent with the Hodag Honies also gave her another option to share her many diverse talents. Marian felt she was truly blessed to have shared her life with her family, close friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her siblings, Joyce Price, L. Michael (Kimi) and Judson (Helen), her step daughters Penne (Robert) McCone Sabatke and Diane (Brian) Young, her grandchildren Ryan McCone, Jeremy (Kristy) McCone, Megan Young, great grandchildren Kallee Ann, Parker and William, Nieces, Nephews, other family and many friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her stepmother Mary Nelson Olsen, her stepson Loran McCone and nephew Shane Heatherly.
Visitation for Marian will be held Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023 from 9 to 11 a.m., with memorial services following at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastors Timothy and Kari Vadis will be officiating. Interment will be in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Neiber family at www.carlsonfh.com.
