RAREA announces spotlight ceremony

A special opportunity for Wisconsin Retirement System annuitants that have been in the educational community and friends of public education will take place in Rhinelander. The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 7 at the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom (CAVOC) in the Rominsky Lodge at 4321 S. Shore Drive.

The Rhinelander Area Retired Educators’ Association (RAREA) is sponsoring this event and welcomes all retired school district employees throughout the Northwoods to attend. You don’t have to have been in positions of an educator but were employed in various positions by a school district. Even if you didn’t work in the area or even the state and retired here or have an interest in public education, please come to find out about us and benefits you could have if joining the State Association. 

RAREA’s annual dues are $15. We have gatherings that you can participate in whenever it is convenient for you in the months of September, November, December, February, April and June. We have other offerings and outings throughout the year.

The Wisconsin Retired Educators’ Association (WREA) is an issue driven organization representing the interests of Wisconsin’s retired educational community.

This event will include a presentation entitled “Membership Matters: Can you live without your monthly annuity payments?” from WREA Executive Director Diane Wilcenski and an additional presentation entitled “Protecting Your Nest Egg” by MJ Woodall, member benefits advisor.

This event gathering starts at 11 a.m. with a Meet-and-Greet Social (coffee provided), membership registration and dues payment, lunch (BYO) and a short business meeting. Speakers will present from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m.

Parking is on the lower level after turning into the entrance from S. Shore Drive. Participants will have to walk up the road to the Lodge.
