Roughly 100 youth wrestlers from around the area were at the Hodag Dome Saturday, Aug. 26 for a wrestling clinic with three-time NCAA champion and Wisconsin native Alex Dieringer.
The program was put on by the Hodag Wrestling Club with help from School District fo Rhinelander superintendent Eric Burke, who coach Dieringer as a youth. Dieringer won three NCAA national titles at Oklahoma State from 2014-2016 and currently serves as recruiting and video coordinator for the University of Michigan wrestling program.
According to an SDR press release, proceeds from the event went to Dieringer as he continues to compete professionally and looks to make the U.S. Olympic Team. Pictured: Dieringer speaks to attendees at the camp while Burke looks on.
