Aho, Miller score wins on ERS Championship night
Former track champion Jesse Aho of Twin Lakes, Mich. snatched the lead on lap 10 and hung onto the lead on a restart with four laps to go and captured the B-Mod feature win at Eagle River Speedway last Tuesday.
This was the final points night of racing at the third-mile, clay oval and champions were crowned in the respective divisions.
Eagle River’s Jason Zdroik claimed the track titles in the Late Model and B-Modified classes. Other track champions were Phillips’ Devin Fries (Pure Stock), Escanaba’s Chase Richer (600 Micro Sprint), Escanaba’s Bentley Richer (300 Micro Sprint), Eagle River’s David Blackberg (Stock Car) and Sugar Camp’s Jason Eisel (Street Stock).
Jason Zdroik won the Late Model feature while Ontonagon’s Emerson Manos sliced his way through lapped traffic to win the caution free street stock feature.
Hometown driver Jonathan Miller scored his fourth Stock Car feature win here of the season.
Richer held the lead green-to-checkered en route to winning the caution free, 600 Micro Sprint feature. Hometown driver Mason Meier captured the 300 Micro Sprint feature.
The races concluded the Tuesday night racing at the speedway for 2023. The track’s big two-day special dubbed “One Last Weekend Long Blast” will wrap up the season on Friday, Sept. 1 and Saturday, Sept. 2.
On Friday night there will be a full program of 300 Micro Sprints, Pure Stocks and the Dairyland Vintage racers. Qualifying double heat races will take place for the B-Mods, Stock Cars and Street Stocks. Following the racing action on Friday night live music will be provided by the band INFLUENCE.
Saturday night will feature main events for the B-Mods, Stock Cars and street stocks. A full program including heat races will take place for USRA-style Late Models, 300, 500 and 600 Micro Sprints and the Grand National classes.
Racing action gets underway at 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday.
