Karolyn E. Fenus

Karolyn E. Fenus, age 84, of Rhinelander, died on Aug. 19, 2023, at the Friendly Village Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on June 16, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth (Gotlieb) Koester.

Karolyn was raised in the Twin Cities and attended schools there. 

She married Wayne Fenus on Dec. 12, 1983 in Rutledge, Minn. and they were blessed with over 36 years together. 

They moved to Rhinelander in the 1990s and have lived here since.

Karolyn enjoyed antiquing, crocheting and sewing. She and Wayne enjoyed traveling. They took many trips to explore and to "just see what's out there."

Karolyn is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Sievert, Lyn (David) Sievert and Stephanie (Larry) Wigand, her sons William (Sandy) Woog and Stephen (Wanda) Woog, her 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her sister Nancy (Robert) Shelton, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne on July 21, 2000 and her parents.

Private family services for Karolyn will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Wayne in the Northwoods National Cemetery.
