Healing conference coming to northern Wisconsin

Residents throughout northern Wisconsin are invited to learn how to heal in Jesus’s name, as well as to be healed, during a two-day program Fri., Sept. 15, and Sat., Sept. 16, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Rhinelander. This is the first time the School of Healing from Brighton, Mich., has been offered in northern Wisconsin, organizers said in a press release.

The program will begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 15, and continues all day Sept. 16, concluding with an evening healing service open to the public. 

Sept. 16 healing service offered at no cost  

A healing service for residents throughout northern Wisconsin is offered at no cost from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Rhinelander. There is no registration required. 

The healing service includes a time of worship and praise, proclamation of the Gospel and preaching, prayer for healing, and an opportunity to come forward to be prayed over by a team trained in the healing ministry, organizers said in a press release.

While the School of Healing was created by a Catholic-based organization, organizers warmly welcome  proclamation of the Gospel during Jesus’ ministry and continues to be an essential component of the new evangelization of our nation.

About the presenters

The School of Healing is a program of Encounter Ministries, located in Brighton, Mich. Encounter Ministries’ presenters, Fr. Patrick Gonyeau and Fr. Jason Brooks, will guide School of Healing participants in activating their gifts of healing and will provide a foundation for partnering with the Holy Spirit to bring healing to those around them. Details and a schedule are available on the website. Fr. Gonyeau, an associate instructor with Encounter Ministries, teaches at the Encounter School of Ministry Main Campus in Brighton, and presents at Encounter Ministries’ events nationally and internationally. He is a healing evangelist and pastor at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Detroit. 

Fr. Brooks grew up in Milwaukee and was ordained a priest in 2004. Since moving to Michigan in 2017, he has developed a passion for helping people experience the healing power of the Holy Spirit. Fr. Brooks leads a Regnum Christi healing ministry in Metro Detroit, where he serves as a chaplain for the adult lay members of the Regnum Christi Federation.
