Linda Sue Kurtzweil

Linda Sue Kurtzweil, 75, of Rhinelander, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, at her home after a long battle with lung cancer.

She was born on Nov. 5, 1947, to Arne and Shirley Runcrans in Superior. Linda was raised in Lannon, Wis. and was a graduate of Sussex Hamilton High School. She was employed in the Menomonee Falls area. Shortly after high school, Linda and her husband, Dan, moved to Southern California where Linda found employment in the engineering department of a machinery manufacturing company engaged in design and production of equipment used in the plastic products manufacturing industry. With knowledge and experience gained during her employment, she eventually started her own parts and engineering support service for the plastic pipe extrusion industry. She relocated, with her business, to the Rhinelander area in the mid-1980s where she continued to support the plastic pipe manufacturing industry from her home office.

She was an avid reader and artist, working in oil and acrylic paints. In later years her time was spent “antiquing” and home gardening and caring for her many adopted dogs and cats and spending time with her family. She rewired and re-plumbed a portion of her home and had mechanical abilities which allowed her to repair appliances.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dan Kurtzweil, sister, Shirley Larsen of Rhinelander, niece, Marina (Nathan) Benoy, great-niece, Annika Benoy of Monroe, Wash., and a great-nephew, Russell Benoy of Irvine, Calif.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents.

The Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions in memory of Linda may be given to the Oneida County Humane Society, 1852 N Stevens Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin 54501.
