Son Cha Masel “Diane”

Son Cha Masel “Diane”, 84, of Rhinelander, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital.

Son was born in Korea on Jan. 11, 1939, to Chung So and Bac Ta (Bong) Mun. She met her husband, Peter Masel, while he was stationed in Korea while serving in the United States Army. They were united in marriage at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wabeno on May 6, 1972. The couple made their home in Laona.

Peter passed away on June 11, 2004, and from then on Diane moved to Rhinelander, living at the Heritage House for the next 19 years.

Surviving are relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one child, and her husband, Peter.

The visitation for Diane will take place on Monday evening, Aug. 14, 2023, at the Hildebrand Funeral Home, from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service. Chaplain John Uhlarik will officiate. Private interment will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023. at the Laona Cemetery.
