Members of the Democratic Party and its supporters wanted to help workers and their families after the disastrous fire at the Dinky Diner in Rhinelander. John Langeland, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Oneida County, sent out an appeal and the local party is contributing $1,675 for the 17 workers affected by the fire. Terrie Bowman, co-owner of the Dinky Diner, accepted the donation from John Langeland and Jackie Cody, DPOC Secretary. Langeland said that while many members of the party miss the Dinky Diner, the primary motivation was to provide some help to those who lost their employment and the camaraderie with the owners and patrons of the Dinky Diner.
