John was born in Rhinelander on April 12, 1963, to Charles A. and Dorothy A. (Huempfner) Worden. Raised in Rhinelander, John was a 1982 graduate of Rhinelander High School. Upon graduating, John began working for a cranberry company. In his early 20s, John was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. The illness eventually would compromise his health and limit his mobility and ability to work.
His health did not stop him from enjoying camping, fishing, or watching the Packers. He also enjoyed watching the deer and eagles from his home.
John enjoyed making friends and spending time with his buddies, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Susie (Art) Beyer of Rhinelander, Carrie (Kerry) Brenton, of Rhinelander, Cindy (Gary) Vozka of Rhinelander, and sister-in-law, Nancy Worden of Rhinelander. Also surviving are special friends, Chuck Ring and Mike Hoffhein. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives and many friends.
John requested a celebration of his life which will take place on Saturday afternoon, April 22, 2023, at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. service. Chaplain John Uhlarik will officiate.
Immediately following the service, there will be a procession to Northland Memorial Park.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin, 54501, 715-365-4343.
