Mental health demonstration
On April 6, 2023, Nicolet College in Rhinelander hosted a presentation by the Northern Highland Area Health Education Center consisting of staged scenarios of medical situations involving mental illness. In the exercise shown above, a mental health counselor converses with a patient played by fire/EMS instructor Alex Kaphingst. Such training exercises are valuable to students who will be faced with real-life mental health emergencies as part of their future employment.
