Gale Lee Jolin
Gale attended Rhinelander schools and graduated in 1964. He enlisted in the Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. Upon discharge he returned to Rhinelander. He married the late Lynn Schmidt and together they had two sons, Shannon and John. He later married Janine Seifert on May 12, 1988, and adopted her two children Joel and Becky. In 1989, Gale and Janine moved to Phelps, and Gale took great pride in the home he remodeled for his family with the help of friends and his children.
Gale worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, from electrics to mechanics to maintenance and security. He also played hard, enjoying motorcycle and snowmobile riding; target shooting and working on his gun collection; trout fishing and so much more. He often had a motor taken apart and was working on restoring an old Honda motorcycle. He loved his German Shepherds, preferring their companionship to most humans while driving back roads; trout fishing; sitting by the fire at night drinking a beer and listening to the waterfall he built in his front yard. He loved to watch the various animals that frequented his yard. He often talked of the red tail hawk, Charlie, he and his brother Gary and sister Renee had rehabbed and returned to the wild when growing up in Rhinelander.
Gale is survived by his wife Janine, children Shannon (Frances) of California, Joel of Phelps, John (Lynn) of Land O'Lakes, and Becky of Mukwonago.
He was very proud of his children, and although he never said it often, loved them unconditionally. Gale is further survived by grandchildren Dustin, Stephanie, Connor, Maximus, Ramsey, Christian, Brooke, Jack and Molly; as well as two great-grandchildren Spencer and Eli.
Per Gale's wishes there will be no funeral. He will be laid to rest at Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw on May 12, 2023, at 11 a.m.
