Clean Boats, Clean Waters virtual trainings offered in the Northwoods
Through the CBCW program, inspectors check boats and trailers for AIS before boaters launch and before they leave a waterbody. Inspectors also teach boaters, anglers, and water enthusiasts how and where AIS are most likely to hitch a ride into new waters and the steps to prevent the spread of AIS.
"If you would like to become a watercraft inspector, or need a refresher before the opening of fishing season, a free CBCW training can show you how," The Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Department stated in a press release.
The department's Aquatic Invasive Species Program in partnership with Vilas County Land & Water Conservation, Lincoln County Land Services, and FLOW AIS (Forest, Langlade, Marinette and Oconto Waterways) are hosting two virtual trainings for new and seasoned watercraft inspectors throughout the Northwoods.
