The tour is free and open to the public. Member artists are putting their best efforts forth and inviting the public to visit their private studios to see new work, tour organizers said in a press release.
The 37 selected locations on the Northwoods Art Tour will be open to guests Friday Oct. 7, Saturday Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Colorful brochures with location descriptions and driving directions are available at local chambers, visitor centers and businesses and for download on the tour website at www.northwoodsarttour.com. There also are links to each artist and a link to a video overview of what the tour experience is like on the website.
"The Tour features a diverse selection of some of the best painters, photographers, potters, wood workers, sculptors, furniture makers, jewelry makers, glass and fiber artists, original printmakers and reproduction prints," the release states. "Each artist expresses their own unique style in their choice of media providing a rich variety to the tour. Studios are organized as individual open houses where visitors can come and go as their interest and time allow. There will be demonstrations and discussion of ideas and process. Work will be available for purchase. Many artists consider the tour the highlight of their year. There is time to discuss art ideas, share knowledge and hear visitors interests and thoughts about their work and the tour. They enjoy seeing repeat visitors, and making new friends. One visitor commented last year that it is the perfect way to spend a day enjoying the beauty of nature on the drive and the beauty of art in the studios. Whether tour goers are looking for the perfect gift, something special for your home or a better understanding of how and why art is created, inspiration for your own creative spark or are just curious, they will be welcomed."
