Bruce graduated from Rhinelander High School and received his bachelor's degree from the UW-Madison in 1963. He married Patricia Thul on Sept. 11, 1965, in Whitefish Bay.
Bruce worked as an economist for the State of Wisconsin, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cottage Grove.
Bruce had a passion for Arabian horses and owned them for many years. He enjoyed golfing and traveling to new places with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them new things, especially about trains and Wisconsin history.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, John (Kristen) Biermeier; daughter, Brenda Biermeier Johansen; five grandchildren, Steven and Ethan Biermeier, Emma, Mason and Caleb Johansen; sister, Donna (Wally) Wubker; brother, Tim (Kris) Biermeier; two sisters-in-law, Jane Thul and Sharon Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Doris; and brother-in-law, Robert Thul.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 434 N. Main St., Cottage Grove, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday.
