Margaret Ann (Peggy to most) Salzman of Rhinelander died peacefully in her sleep on the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022 at the age of 81. Peggy took great joy in raising her children, giving so much and keeping little for herself. Living most of her long life in Grafton, she was the founder of a children's theatre group called The Great Pretenders and took pride in the task of makeup artist in many Grafton High School musicals. She was a founding member of the Ozaukee County Day Care Center and later went on to lovingly sit for many children in her private childcare business. She was a stickler in her duties in the safety deposit box area of the Grafton State Bank. She fancied Snoballs and sausage biscuits. She loved cats and dogs, especially Lady. She adored talking about the past and the rich life she lived. Walking everywhere she went and standing tall at five-foot-one, she wouldn't take any guff from anyone. She made friends easily and everyone that met her loved her. Peggy is survived by her children: Jeffrey Salzman, Kim Salzman, Laura (Joe) Michaelchuck and Anthony Salzman. Her ex-husband James (Joyce) Salzman. Her siblings: Tom (Vicki) Spengler, Don Spengler, Jane Bayerl, Edward (Carol) Spengler, Judy (Bob) Janicki, Patty Seifert, Gerry (Kathy) Spengler, and Sue Hoffmann. Peggy is further survived by many other relatives and friends, including her grandkids: Megan and Sarah Michaelchuck, who will miss her terribly, along with Emily and Ian Nadolski. Peggy was preceded in death by her son Michael Salzman, brother Billy Spengler and brothers-in-law Bruce Hoffmann & Randy Seifert. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at The Pavilion at Glacier Valley in Slinger for taking care of Peggy during her time there. Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory 979 N. Green Bay Rd. in Grafton. Deacon Al Lazaga officiated.
