Judy (Taege) Boersma, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022 surrounded by family. Born in Milwaukee, to the late Weldon "Bud" and Dorothy Taege, the oldest of 3 children, she was predeceased by her sister Tina Werres.
Judy grew up in Rhinelander and was a proud graduate of the 1960 class at Rhinelander High School. She married Richard Boersma on Aug. 22, 1974, and later moved to Post Falls, Idaho and subsequently to Mesa, Ariz. Upon retirement, Rich and Judy came full circle, moving back to Rhinelander to build their dream home on Crescent Lake. For the last 5 years Rich and Judy have been living in Herriman, Utah, to be closer to family who could assist with Judy's medical care.
Judy loved playing cards and was always up for a game of cribbage with family and was also a skilled and reliable bridge partner. Warm memories are enjoyed by family and friends of visiting Rich and Judy at their home where Judy's deft cooking and hosting skills were on display. She truly loved summers on Crescent Lake, numerous trips to see her favorite musicians in Branson, Mo. and was fond of winters on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard Boersma; and her four children: Amy (JD) of Santa Monica, Calif.; Robbyn (Tom) of Indianapolis, Ind; Josh (Amber) of Peoria, Ariz; and Becky (Jason) of Herriman, Utah; and nine adoring grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Bing (Ellie) Taege of Rhinelander.
A celebration of life is planned for next summer in her beloved Wisconsin Northwoods.
