Sandy worked in the banking industry for all her working career. She was employed by the Zion State Bank when they were in Illinois. In Rhinelander she worked for the First National Bank and then because of mergers she worked for Valley Bank, M & I and then the Associated Bank, all on the same corner. Sandy then went to work for the Northwoods State Bank as a loan officer and branch manager until her retirement.
Outside of her work Sandy had many interests, first and foremost her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist church in Rhinelander. She sang in the choir for many years and also sang for special occasions. She liked to bowl and read mystery novels and travel with John with their camper.
Sandy is survived by her husband John, her sons Michael (Veronica) Detienne and Steven (Julie) Detienne, her grandchildren Shannon, Anna, Carter and Emalee, her great-grandchildren Levi, Noah, Stevie and Jameson; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jack.
Visitation for Sandy will be from 10 to 11 a.m., with a memorial service following at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Rhinelander. Reverend Mark Klaisner will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Home Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Detienne family at www.carlsonfh.com.
