"Adam is a leader in not just one community, but four of the Northwoods communities the FORK Endowment Fund looks to support," Weight said in a press release. "His insight is an opportunity for our group to better understand the needs of food insecure children within our area."
The FORK Endowment Fund's mission is to provide financial support to area organizations whose mission, like that of FORK, is to feed children.
Since the Endowments conception in June of 2020, it has donated nearly $40,000 to regional organizations serving children from food insecure homes in Vilas and Oneida counties.
"I'm looking forward to the impact I now can make in the lives of children from across the Northwoods," Redman said. "Good works are being done on the issue of childhood food insecurity, and the FORK Endowment Fund is a tool that can help those good works continue for generations to come."
Currently, the FORK Endowment Fund is in the middle of its "Phase-One" $1,000,000 Capital Campaign. Individuals can donate at FeedOurRuralKids.org/FORK-Endowment-Fund.
FORK is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide nutritional support to children from across Vilas and Oneida counties. In addition to the Endowment Fund, Feed Our Rural Kids currently funds and manages five hands-on nutritional support programs directly serving the children of the Northland Pines, Three Lakes, and Phelps school districts.
Recently, FORK, in partnership with Oneida and Vilas counties' departments of social services, rolled out the Family Food Helpline. The Helpline is a "go-to" resource to help residents of our area find the nutritional support available to them within their hometowns.
