Jean worked at Banta Corporation in Menasha for many years and later moved to Rhinelander, retiring from the School District of Rhinelander. She loved living in the "North Woods" and considered it her home. Jean was blessed with many special friends and neighbors. Thanks to the Rueckert Family for her home among the tall pines of the Northwoods.
Jean was a life-long Catholic and brought many prayers into her daily life. She was an avid Packers, Brewers, and Wisconsin fan. She watched and supported her "Wisconsin Team" with a passion. Jean loved dog "Tippy".
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Valeria; brother, Gordon Altenhofen; sisters, Delores Van Drunen, Dorothy Williams, Esther Spielbauer; sister-in-law, Kay Altenhofen; and brothers-in-law, Vincent Van Drunen, Jack Williams, and Richard Spielbauer.
She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews, their families and many friends.
According to Jean's wishes, a cremation will take place and no services will be held. Thank you to the staff at Friendly Village and Hospice for their care and kindness during Jean's short stay. You may leave your private condolences for the Woods family at www.carlsonfh.com.
