Conrad Paul (Butch, Uncle Buck) Kuczmarski, age 79, passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2022, surrounded by family. Conrad was born on Sept. 5, 1942, in Starks, to Emil Kuczmarski and Betty (Fojut) Kuczmarski. He was born the ninth child of 12.

As a boy, Conrad loved to play baseball, joining Babe Ruth the first year it was established. He graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1960. On May 13, 1961, Conrad married Carolyn Sprague. Together they had five children, whom he always placed first.

Conrad worked on the family potato farm, Kuczmarski and Sons, with his mother and brother Richard his whole working career. He was able to go out each morning, smell the air and predict what the working day would entail. Then, he would meet "the boys" for coffee at his mother's. Conrad's livelihood was making the rounds in the Starks fields, looking at what was planted, making sure the rows were straight, and that the crops were producing a good yield.

Conrad had a profound love for the outdoors. He hunted deer and grouse, and took his annual salmon fishing trips to Peshtigo and Marinette. Conrad watched NASCAR and rooted for his favorite driver, Kyle Larson. He loved to have a good debate regarding politics and current events with anyone who would oblige.

Conrad is survived by his daughters, Debra Kuczmarski and Emily (Dan) Kettenhofen; sons, Joseph (Laura) Kuczmarski, Robert Todd (Teresa) Kuczmarski, and Casey (Kellie) Kuczmarski; sisters, Betty Kopp, Charmaine (Terry) Kuczmarski, Barbara Day, and Ramona Kuczmarski; brothers, Carl (Joanne) Kuczmarski, John (Sunny) Kuczmarski, and Richard (Bev) Kuczmarski; grandchildren, Katheryn, Aaron, Nathan, Jerri, Jonathan, Nancy Joy, Dakota, Cheyanne, Andrew, Angel, Danielle, Mikhail, Tyler, Courbin, Bethany, Quincy, and Oliver; great-grandchildren, Logan, Ryan, Reece, Cora, Ashtynn, and Peyton; nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Tiesling; and brothers, Emil Kuczmarski Jr., Robert Kuczmarski, and Donald Kuczmarski.

Special thanks to his nephew, Jerry (Jerome) Kuczmarski, for being his constant companion and always looking over Uncle Buck. Thank you to Chris Quant, Leone Croner, and Compassus Hospice team for the special care and love they gave Conrad.

A visitation for Conrad will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 9 to 11 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11 a.m., all at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Rhinelander, with Father Chris Kemp officiating. Interment will follow in Northland Memorial Park. There will also be a celebration of life at the Starks Town Hall following the committal service.
