Pat was born in Wausau on May 11, 1941, to Alexander and Claire (Schoenherr) Spatz. Raised in Wisconsin Rapids, Pat graduated from Wisconsin Rapids High School in 1959. She then attended Lutheran Deaconess Nursing School in Minneapolis, graduating in 1961. Pat met her future husband, Don Wiegert in Wisconsin Rapids in 1961. The couple were married in Wisconsin Rapids Jan. 26, 1963. The couple lived in Burlington from 1963 until 1972 where she was employed as an outside ward nurse at Southern Colony in Union Grove and it was during this time that three sons were born. The family moved to Rhinelander in 1972. Pat was employed as a registered nurse from 1972 until 2006 working for a group home, Bump Clinic, Dr. Furda for twenty years, Dr. Erdman and the Rhinelander Medical Center.
Pat enjoyed camping, biking, and hiking throughout Wisconsin and Canada. She also enjoyed having dogs and cats, reading, especially mysteries and just staying at home.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Don; children, Richard Wiegert of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; Robert (Yesica) Wiegert of Dallas and Rodney Wiegert of Rhinelander; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Chase) Fortner of Nashville; Alex (Jamie) Wiegert and Neythan Wiegert all of Dallas and by four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents.
The visitation for Pat took place Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. Funeral Service, conducted by Chaplain John Uhlarik.
Memorial contributions in memory of Pat may be given to the Oneida County Humane Society, 1852 N. Stevens Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin 54501.
